Mateta ‘hoping’ for Milan call

La Gazzetta dello Sporto in Italy suggests Jean-Philippe Mateta could be tempted bya move to AC Milan should an approach be made.

Marco Guidi thinks the Crystal Palace striker could be on Milan’s hit-list should Christopher Nkunku leave the San Siro for Fenerbahce.

Guidi writes: “Jean-Philippe Mateta has long been hoping for a call from Italy.

“The 28-year-old French striker from Crystal Palace has also convinced the management of Via Aldo Rossi, but for now, the English club’s asking price – around €40 million – is deemed too high.”

Barcelona face ‘difficult’ fight for Ake

Ferran Martinez at Mundo Deportivo writes how any approach for Manchester City defender Nathan Ake “is expected to be difficult”.

Barcelona – who have long-term injury concerns with Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen – are believed to be interested in Ake.

“Currently, the club (Manchester City) is willing to consider proposals, but sources close to the Dutch center-back, consulted by this newspaper, place his price at around €20 million, a figure that raises doubts about Barça’s current ability to undertake a transaction of that magnitude,” Martinez wrote.

Chiesa Juve return could be on the cards

Staying in Italy, and calciomercato.com writes how Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti wants to bring in three new players in the winter transfer market.

One of those, they suggest, could be a familiar face.

“The latest idea is to bring Italian Federico Chiesa back to Turin on loan from Liverpool,” they write.

“It’s not yet a negotiation, but already something more than a simple suggestion.”

Dortmund begin Bobb talks

Oscar Bobb is a wanted man this winter, with Manchester City willing to let the winger leave the Etihad Stadium – should Antoine Semenyo arrive at the club from Bournemouth.

A number of clubs are believed to be interested in securing the services of Bobb – who came through the City academy – but Borussia Dortmund are currently front-runners.

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that talks have already started between the two clubs.

McAtee offered game time in France

He has made just ten appearances in all competitions so far this season and the Ligue 1 club are keen to give him an opportunity for more game time.

McAtee has also been linked with Chelsea and Zemour admits the Premier League club’s buying power may prove a stumbling block for Strasbourg – who are looking for a more temporary arrangement.

“Strasbourg would like to bring him in on loan this winter to revitalise Liam Rosenior’s squad,” he wrote.

Sporting stand strong on Diomande

Sporting are preparing themselves for a flood of interest for defender Ousmane Diomande, with Paris Saint-Germain already making moves to complete the signing.

Hugo Forte and Nuno Raposo at A BOLA say PSG’s proposal of a €45m transfer will be nowhere near enough.

“At that price, A BOLA has learned, any offer will likely fall short. That offer, and any other that doesn’t reach the €80 million release clause, would also be unsuccessful.”

Crystal Palace – who will potentially be on the lookout for a defensive replacement for Marc Guehi – reportedly came close to signing Diomande last summer for €55m.
