Alexander Isak sends message after injury: ‘I will work hard to be back’

The striker was injured during last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Isak netted the opening goal of the contest in the capital after stepping off the bench at half-time, though was unable to continue following a challenge during the act of scoring.

The Reds’ No.9 has now been sidelined for the foreseeable future with no timeframe set on his return after he underwent an operation on an ankle problem, which included a fibula fracture.

Taking to social media to send a message to Liverpool supporters, he wrote: “Gutted to be out for a while. Time to recover and support from the sideline. I will work hard to be back as soon as I possibly can.

“Thank you all reds and everyone else for the kind messages, it does not go unnoticed.”
