On the 2-2 draw at West Ham United last weekend…
The way the game went and going down to 10 players, it was important to get something from that. I was so proud of the girls for the effort we put in because everyone knows how hard it is to play 10 versus 11, so to do it for that long with 10 players, it was good to get a point. We were coming off the back of three away games in a week with a lot of travelling, so I think we showed a lot of determination and effort to twice come back against West Ham. I think at times, especially towards the end, you wouldn’t have thought we were the side with only 10 players. It was a bit of a mental battle but we fought well.
On being handed the captain’s armband in the absence of Grace Fisk…
It’s been difficult for us being without Fisky on the pitch and in training as well. She has been a big miss but for me personally it has been a really proud moment. It means a lot to me that Gaz (Taylor) has put his trust in me with that and it’s the same with all the girls who have all really got onboard. I’m enjoying every moment and I’m just proud to have that responsibility from the coaching staff.
On Olsson’s rich vein of goalscoring form…
Beata has been great for us. She has found her feet and we can’t ask for anything more. The goals she has been bringing have been massive for us and long may that continue.
On how grateful she and the team are for the fans’ support…
We know how good our fans are and we can always hear them. They also faced a lot of travel with the three away games last week and we want to make them proud as always. They really do make a difference for us, like last week when we were down to 10 players and their support massively helped us.
