Man Utd lead race for Semenyo
Manchester United, Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool are all keen on signing Antoine Semenyo this January.
The i Paper believes that United are the current favourites to sign the Bournemouth winger, but there are still details to iron out.
“The i Paper can reveal that while the fee is set at £60m plus £5m add-ons, there will need to be negotiation over the payment terms, which are not set out in the clause.
“Bournemouth could demand a significant chunk up front to pay for Semenyo’s replacement and it may come down to which of the four frontrunners in the chase are prepared to strike the best deal.
“United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have all spoken to Semenyo about personal terms and to set out their plans for the Ghana international.
“It is United who are now seen as the frontrunners having missed out on bringing Semenyo to Old Trafford in the summer. Their offers back then, both in terms of the transfer fee and his personal terms, dipped below what Bournemouth and the player expected.”
Mainoo ready for United exit
Kobbie Mainoo is now willing to leave Manchester United on a permanent basis, not just on loan.
The midfielder is yet to agree terms on a new contract, and Napoli are keen to land the player to link up with Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay.
“Daily Mail Sport understands Mainoo’s relationship with his boyhood club is now at breaking point.
“With no contract proposal on the table, he continues to earn around £40,000 a week – roughly a third of his market value.
“Mainoo sees no future for himself at Old Trafford under Amorim, and if a loan move in January included an option to leave permanently, then he would now consider it.
“Napoli are still at the front of the queue and there is a growing optimism in southern Italy that Antonio Conte will get his man this time, reuniting Mainoo with Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund.”
Marseille could lose Gomes in January
While he only joined Marseille from Lille in the summer on a free transfer, England midfielder Angel Gomes is already considering a move away.
The 25-year-old is not starting regularly for his new side, so he is willing to move on to get regular minutes.
“The former Manchester United man has been out of the England picture since Thomas Tuchel took over as manager but a January move could yet revive his slim World Cup hopes.
“Gomes won four England caps under Lee Carsley when still playing his club football for Lille. He joined fellow Ligue 1 side Marseille on a free transfer when his contract with Les Dogues expired, securing another season in the Champions League.
“Unfortunately for the 25-year-old, he has been unable to hold down a regular starting spot under Roberto De Zerbi. He was left on the bench for the last two league games, while all four of his Champions League outings have come from the bench.”
Barca to sign Norwich winger
Barcelona look set to beat RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund to the signing of Norwich winger Ajay Tavares.
The 15-year-old is lined up to join the Catalans to initially play for their youth set-up.
“The highly-rated forward has been chased by some of Europe‘s top clubs ahead of January – but the Spanish giants are expected to win the race.
“Tavares, who made his senior Canaries debut in a July pre-season friendly against Dutch outfit Volendam, was wanted by Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.
“But he is heading for the Nou Camp, where the plan is for him to play for their Under-19s before moving up to Barcelona B ahead of a future loan move.”
