Liverpool earned an impressive victory at Inter to stretch their unbeaten run to four games in Italy on Tuesday evening. A penalty from Dominik Szoboszlai two minutes from the end of normal time was sufficient to secure a 1-0 triumph in Milan.
The result means Arne Slot’s side now have 12 points from their first six Champions League opening stage games and are now in strong contention to qualify for the knockout stages.

Alisson Becker 7
Watched a Barella free-kick curl wide and comfortably dealt with shots from range before sound stop to keep out Martinez.
Joe Gomez 6
Solid enough defensively although attacking forays were understandably somewhat limited and occasionally lacked quality. Subbed.
Ibrahima Konate 7
Didn’t appear affected by his mistake at Leeds and unlucky to see goal disallowed. Dominant display after break will do him power of good.
Virgil van Dijk 7
Read the game well to sniff out Inter danger early first half but lost Martinez for header before break. Good block from same player second half.
Andy Robertson 7
Started well going forward but a little muted after being clobbered hard by Martinez until finding second wind after break.
Ryan Gravenberch 8
Travelled well with ball and switched on defensively as the deepest midfielder with two good interceptions first half. Maintained level throughout on a good night.
Dominik Szoboszlai 8
Plenty of energy playing on the right of the midfield diamond and helped out Gomez. Excellent tracking back and pressing and kept his cool for late penalty.
Alexis Mac Allister 6
Tidy enough as the most advanced midfielder, particularly as Liverpool pressed well during the opening quarter. Shielded ball effectively on necessary occasions.
Curtis Jones 7
Forced a save from Sommer after one strong run and confident in possession. Appeared to enjoy the formation. Booked.
Alexander Isaac 6
Flitted in and out of the game before break but better contribution and unlucky not to win some fouls. Could have done more with second-half chance after winning possession. Subbed.
Hugo Ekitike 6
Largely on the periphery until drawing save from Sommer and inadvertently handling for disallowed opener. Booked.

Instantly made difference with range of passing and intelligence on ball.

Added attacking thrust down the right but should have scored with Sommer instead saving from close range.
