Newcastle to offer defensive duo new deals
Newcastle United defenders Tino Livramento and Sven Botman are set to be offered new deals.
“Liverpool are in the market for a new centre-half amid the alarming decline of Van Dijk this season. They missed out on the signing of Marc Guehi in the summer but have been linked with a move for Dutchman Botman, who has just 18 months left on his Newcastle contract.
“However, Newcastle are determined to hold on to their biggest assets and are preparing a fresh offer to Botman, who is also a target for Chelsea, and Tino Livramento, who is being eyed by Manchester City, having already tied down Sandro Tonali to an extended contract.”
Twelve clubs target Mainoo
Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is wanted by at least 12 clubs this January, according to the Daily Mail.
“Scholes branded Amorim’s claim that he considers Mainoo a starter as ‘bull****’ after the England midfielder was left on the bench in Thursday’s 1-1 draw with West Ham.
“The 20-year-old is desperate to leave Old Trafford next month and press his claims for an England recall ahead of the World Cup after United rejected his request to join Napoli on loan in the summer.
“Daily Mail Sport can reveal that the Serie A champions are still keen to sign Mainoo until the end of the season, and are one of a dozen clubs from England, Italy, Spain and Germany expressing an interest in taking him on loan.”
Chukwueze buy option revealed
The Evening Standard has reported the fee it would take for Fulham to sign Samuel Chukwueze on a permanent deal from AC Milan.
The Italian club would be due between £22-26 million if the London club were to exercise their buy option.
“Standard Sport understands the option to buy is set at between £22-26million. The player is open to staying at Craven Cottage, should the clubs reach an agreement for his transfer.
“After a promising but injury-hit start to life in west London, Chukwueze announced himself to the Premier League on Tuesday with two goals off the bench as Fulham nearly came back from 5-1 down against Manchester City.”
Saudi sides confident over Salah
Saudi Pro League teams are hopeful they can land Mohamed Salah from Liverpool this January.
The i Paper believes that Salah could now be ready to leave for significantly less than the £200 million Liverpool were offered a couple of years ago.
“Confidence is high (that) the Egyptian could finally be persuaded to move. Salah has long been coveted as the one player who can take the Saudi Pro League to new heights, with various record bids rejected by Liverpool over the past few years.
“However, The i Paper has been told funds could be made available for at least two clubs to bid for an out-of-favour Salah in January. This time the offer, according to one well-placed source, will not come close to the £200m Al Ittihad placed on the table two years ago.”
