Aston Villa v Arsenal: Wait on Rice

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery said he remains uncertain whether goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez will be fit after the World Cup winner was a late withdrawal in the 4-3 win at Brighton.

Second-choice stopper Marco Bizot stepped in at short notice and could feature again.

Emery said on Martinez’s injury: “He didn’t train yesterday. It’s important to see how he’s passing through the next few hours. I don’t know if he’s available tomorrow.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has issued an update on the fitness of four first-team players ahead of the trip to Villa Park.

On Declan Rice’s availability, Arteta said: “Let’s see, we have another training session this afternoon. Every hour is going to be very important to see the availability of the players, so after that we will decide who travels.”

Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard remains absent at Villa

On Cristhian Mosquera, who withdrew in the first half against Brentford, Arteta added: “That’s the one that is more complicated. We have to do another test today to see where we are with him.”

Leandro Trossard and William Saliba will both still be unavailable, but Arteta said it would be a “matter of days” before the two return.

Bournemouth v Chelsea: Palmer to start?

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola said centre-back Veljko Milosavljevic will be assessed after finishing the 1-0 home defeat by Everton with knee issues.

Marcos Senesi is in line to take his place after his one-match suspension, while David Brooks returns from his own ban.

But Lewis Cook remains unavailable following his red card at Sunderland (second of three) and now Tyler Adams has to serve a one-match suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the season last Tuesday night.

Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns but are expected to welcome back defenders Wesley Fofana and Reece James to the starting line-up after having their minutes managed in the 3-1 defeat at Leeds.

Enzo Maresca also revealed he regretted not using Josh Acheampong at Elland Road, meaning the 18-year-old could also be in line to feature.

Midfielder Romeo Lavia remains out due to a muscle problem with no known return date, while Moises Caicedo will serve the second of a three-match ban.

Cole Palmer is in contention to start having been a second-half substitute against Leeds.

Everton v Nottingham Forest: Iroegbunam banned

David Moyes said Everton could once more be without Michael Keane, having explained that the centre-back had played against Newcastle with an injury which then ruled him out of the victory at Bournemouth.

Regarding club captain Seamus Coleman, Moyes revealed that the full-back is nursing a hamstring injury sustained against Manchester United last month and would be sidelined for a while, though he did not specify exactly how long.

Moyes also confirmed that midfielder Tim Iroegbunam would miss the game due to suspension, noting that the squad had been short for the previous match against Bournemouth and would be similarly depleted for the Forest clash.

Idrissa Gueye serves the third and final match of his suspension while Jarrad Branthwaite (hamstring) and Merlin Rohl (hernia surgery) are long-term injury absentees.

Man City v Sunderland: Rodri remains sidelined

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Rodri remains unavailable for the Sunderland game due to a thigh issue.

The Manchester City manager said: “No (he is not available) but he is getting better. I do not know how long, but he is at the stage where, in a few weeks, he will be ready.”

Mateo Kovacic is not yet ready, while Guardiola has also suggested that full-back Nico O’Reilly may get a rest in the coming weeks, but his good form is currently keeping Rayan Ait-Nouri out of the side.

Regis Le Bris will head to the Etihad Stadium with the same Sunderland squad which earned a 1-1 draw at Liverpool.

Aji Alese, Habib Diarra, Dennis Cirkin and Leo Hjelde all remain absent.

Newcastle v Burnley: Wissa close to return

Defender Sven Botman is unavailable after having an injection in his back which will leave him sidelined for a week.

Forward Yoane Wissa is stepping up his fitness after taking part in an 11-a-side game during the week behind closed doors. Howe has refused to rule out the DR Congo international featuring against The Clarets.

Leeds v Liverpool: Bradley back in contention

Daniel James and Sean Longstaff remain sidelined with medium-term injuries while Leeds boss Daniel Farke also noted that Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha are doubtful.

Farke indicated that squad rotation is likely, highlighting concerns over player workload, particularly for midfielder Ao Tanaka.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has confirmed that full-back Conor Bradley has returned to training and could be available for selection. Joe Gomez is expected to feature having played through a knock against Sunderland.

Totteham v Brentford: Bees big guns to return

Bournemouth manager Keith Andrews will recall first-team quartet Igor Thiago, Jordan Henderson, Mikkel Damsgaard and Nathan Collins after the side was rotated during the 2-0 defeat at Arsenal.

Andrews declared that striker Thiago is in a “good place” after he limped off in the closing stages of the 3-1 victory over Burnley last weekend.

Loanee Reiss Nelson is available, having been ineligible to face his parent club at Emirates Stadium.

Brighton will be without Stefanos Tzimas due to what head coach Fabian Hurzeler has described as “a long-term injury” that will keep him out for months.

Hurzeler is hopeful of better news for Yasin Ayari, who has a chance of being available, while Kaoru Mitoma is an option after suffering a small setback in training.

West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta returns to the squad following his one-match suspension which ruled him out of the 1-1 draw at Manchester United on Thursday.

Crysencio Summerville is expected to return to action soon, while Ollie Scarles continues with individual training sessions.

Igor Julio will be unavailable for selection, as he is ineligible to play against his parent club.

Fulham v Crystal Palace: Too soon for Muniz

Marco Silva has confirmed that there are no fresh injury concerns ahead of Crystal Palace’s visit.
