Arsenal’s title credentials will be tested when they go head-to-head with former manager Unai Emery and his Aston Villa side on Saturday.
Emery succeeded Arsene Wenger as manager of The Gunners in 2018, but struggled to adapt to life at Emirates Stadium before being replaced by current Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

He has since gone on to achieve great things with The Villans, who are on a remarkable run of eight wins in their last nine Premier League fixtures.

Arteta’s side have also been firing on all fronts this term and are five points clear at the top of the table ahead of a crucial weekend.

They will follow up a 2-0 win over Brentford at the Emirates on Wednesday with a trip to Villa Park, live on TNT Sports and discovery+, on Saturday.

Villa were also in action in midweek. They came back from 2-0 down against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex to win 4-3 in a match between two of the form teams in the division.
