Manchester United’s interest in Arsenal teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly is heating up as the 2026 summer window approaches. Salt put it simply that Lewis-Skelly is in a dilemma and United are taking the possibility seriously.
Journalist Ben Jacobs added that while Manchester United made an informal enquiry, the player himself is open to looking around for more minutes. However, Jacobs noted that any deal would require United to pay well above market value and convince the player of their project before Arsenal even sit down to talk.
It is a surprising turn of events, considering Lewis-Skelly turned down Real Madrid and Chelsea just last summer to sign a five-year deal at the Emirates. The recent loss of Chido Obi to United’s academy seems to have shaped Mikel Arteta’s mindset here. Speaking on players leaving, Arteta previously noted that if a player believes their best path lies elsewhere, “there is not much that you can do.” That sense of pragmatism suggests Arsenal won’t beg him to stay, though club sources insist a sale only happens for an “absolutely crazy” fee.

“To persuade a player to stay, a player has to be willing to be with us and commit to us. I don’t know specifically, (but) both parties will feel very different about it.
