Vinicius in contract U-turn

Vinicius Junior is reportedly closer than ever to renewing his Real Madrid contract.
Much of the talk around Madrid this season has been about Vinicius and his future, with reports saying he would not extend his contract due to his relationship with head coach Xabi Alonso.
The tension was apparent when Vinicius reacted angrily to being substituted in El Clasico.
However, according to Sports WorldVinicius apologised to his team-mates and Alonso for his reaction, and has agreed to lower his contract demands, having wanted to be the highest-paid player in the squad or at least in line with Kylian Mbappe.
The relationship between Vinicius and Alonso appeared to be improved when the pair hugged following Madrid’s 4-3 win over Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the aim is to finalise a new agreement in the coming months.

Chelsea set sights on Maignan

Chelsea have rekindled their interest in signing goalkeeper Mike Maignan from AC Milan, according to reports.

Maignan is out of contract next summer and has been linked with a move away from San Siro.

Sky Sport report that Chelsea are “actively working to reorganise their goalkeeping department” and want to sign Maignan.

Chelsea have apparently “reopened contact with Maignan’s representatives after learning that the Frenchman does not intend to extend his contract with AC Milan”.

Milan target Silva

AC Milan could reportedly make a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Fabio Silva.

Despite being second in Serie A, Milan have struggled for goals at times this season.

Silva has not been a regular starter for Dortmund after joining from Wolves and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano says he is open to leaving in January.

“He went to Dortmund in the summer, despite the summer courtship, but he’s not playing, he’s struggling a lot, and he’s considering leaving in January. It’s a real possibility,” said Romano on YouTube.

“So keep an eye on Fabio Silva, because among the various teams interested in attacking players, there are several, perhaps Juventus; in terms of attack, Roma certainly; and we’ll see what happens with Milan with (Santiago) Gimenez.

“There are a number of positions that could be filled, and Fabio Silva is one to keep an eye on, because I’m told the player is seriously considering a January departure.”

Werner keen on Miami move

Timo Werner is keen on joining Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, according to BILD.

Former Chelsea forward Werner has fallen out of favour at RB Leipzig, playing just a single minute this season.

A winter exit looks likely and BILD says he is tempted by Miami’s project, and the pull of playing with Messi.

Werner had the chance to join New York Red Bulls in the summer but the move fell through. However, with his contract expiring in 2026, a move away could be on the cards.
