The 6’1-inch forward has rifled in 17 goals in the Eliteserien, which finished at the end of November, and saw Bodo/Glimt miss out on the title to Viking FK by one point.
Hogh’s impressive scoring record which has seen him net 40 times in 81 games for his club, saw him attract interest from England.
Hours before facing City, it was reported that Championship club Norwich had made a bid for the forward.
Hogh, who has several appearances for Denmark’s U-18 and U-19 sides, found little success in his native country and it was not until a move to a newly-promoted Stabaek in Norway in 2023 that he found his footing.
A year-long loan deal quickly turned permanent after he fired in eight goals in 14 games, signing through to the end of 2025.
But football has faced a decline in promising strikers in recent years and, presumably, there are even fewer in Scandinavia. Bodo/Glimt quickly jumped on Hogh just three months after his move to Stabaek was made permanent.
He joined for the 2024 season, scoring 12 league goals to fire Bodo/Glimt to their fourth title in five years.
That season saw him make his mark on the European stage, ending the 2024/25 Europa League with seven goals to his name, tying Bruno Fernandes and Ayoub El Kaabi as the competition’s leading marksmen.
He scored the opening goal as the Norwegian dreamers captured a historic 3-2 win over Porto, and added to his tally with a hat-trick in January against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The knockout portion of the competition was technically played during the 2025 Eliteserien season, and Hogh added three more goals as Bodo/Glimt’s monumental journey took them to the semi-finals, where Tottenham Hotspur extinguished their flame.
With a brace in a win over City, undoubtedly Bodo/Glimt’s greatest victory, Hogh’s interest – as well as his price tag – is sure to skyrocket.
Norwich had been primed to sign him, but his performance is sure to attract eyes from the Premier League, and he could come back to haunt Haaland, and City, sooner than we think.
