Pressure mounts on Frank after late defeat against West Ham

Pressure is mounting on Thomas Frank after Callum Wilson scored a late winner for West Ham United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 33-year-old, who has been linked with a move away from the club, struck in the 93rd minute to break Spurs’ hearts and clinch a vital 2-1 win for his side.

The defeat leaves Tottenham in 14th, trailing Crystal Palace by a point, having now lost their last three matches in all competitions and without a win in five.

Meanwhile, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side move within four points of safety after winning in the league for the first time since the start of November.

The visitors went ahead after just 15 minutes as Crysencio Summerville fired home at the near post, before Cristhian Romero’s thumping header levelled the match just after the hour mark.

But after Wilson bundled home from a corner in stoppage time, Spurs supporters turned on their manager, chanting “sacked in the morning”.

Rosenior off to winning start in league with routine win over Brentford

Joao Pedro fired The Blues ahead midway through the opening period before Cole Palmer doubled their advantage from the spot 15 minutes from time.

But it was not straightforward for the hosts, with Keith Andrews’ side having more of the ball, more efforts, and more attempts on goal.

However, with the victory, Rosenior’s men climb one point above Brentford and into sixth in the league, two points shy of the top four.

It continues the Englishman’s strong start in west London after their 5-1 victory over Charlton in the FA Cup on the weekend.

The defeat ends a scintillating run in the league from the Bees, who had picked up 14 points from their last six games.

Liverpool held by Burnley to extend run of draws

Florian Wirtz opened the scoring for the hosts shortly before the interval with an emphatic finish, 10 minutes after Dominik Szoboszlai hit the bar from the spot.

But Liverpool failed to convert another of their many attempts on goal, and Scott Parker’s side drew level in the second period as Marcus Edwards fired home from a tight angle.

The Reds also extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to 12 games, but they would have hoped for more against a side who remain in 19th and seven points from safety.

Sunderland come from behind to inflict more pain on Palace

Sunderland came from behind to beat Crystal Palace at the Stadium of Light, inflicting more disappointment on the visitors after a difficult week.

Yeremy Pino’s deft chip gave Oliver Glasner’s men the lead on the half-hour mark, but they were pegged back just three minutes later by Enzo Le Fee’s sweeping strike, and the hosts went ahead in the second half thanks to Brian Brobbey’s lifted finish.

It comes after a seven-day period in which Palace lost to non-League Macclesfield in the FA Cup, Glasner confirmed he would leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season, and Manchester City agreed a deal for defender Marc Guehi.

The London side are enduring a torrid run of results, without a win in their last 10 games in all competitions and their last seven in the league, leaving them in 13th.

Sunderland, meanwhile, move up to eighth with their first victory in six league matches.

Leeds leave it late to end Fulham’s unbeaten run

Lukas Nmecha scored a 91st-minute winner as Leeds United ended Fulham’s six-match unbeaten run with a 1-0 victory at Elland Road.

After a match lacking in clear-cut chances, the striker came off the bench late on and turned home Ethan Ampadu’s delivery in stoppage time to clinch a vital three points.

The hosts have now lost just one of their last nine games in the league and remain eight points clear of the drop zone after West Ham’s win at Spurs.

Fulham, meanwhile, drop down to 10th with the defeat, after an impressive run which saw them take 14 points from six games.
