‘Something to build on’ – Grace Fisk on LFC Women 0-0 London City Lionesses

Liverpool’s winless run in the WSL this term now stands at 12 matches but Fisk believes their wait for a victory will end sooner rather than later.

She added: “Obviously it’s something that we’re aware of. I think there’s been a lot of games where we’ve felt that we’ve actually had good performances, it’s just the final piece (that is missing).

“Like I say, that was our first clean sheet and we feel like between both boxes we are pretty solid, but we just know what’s missing at the moment is goals. We’re working really hard, we’ve obviously strengthened in the window so we’ll only build from now and I’m totally confident it will come.”

Goalkeeper Falk marked her Reds bow with a clean sheet, while Bergstrom also started.

Fisk continued: “Falky is obviously a really experienced ‘keeper, which I think is what we have been lacking – experience and experienced winners. We’re obviously quite a young team and I’m leading, but I’ve never won anything in my career in that sense so we needed experience which Falky will give us.

“And Alice as well, you can see she is a really direct player, which is again what we have been lacking – direct, people who can create something out of nothing.

“So they’ve been really good and they’ve mixed into the group really well, so we’re excited for them to see how they kick on.”
