Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Mor Ndiaye and another highly-rated young centre-back, both of whom will go straight into Rob Page’s Under-21s squad
Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign left-sided centre-back Mor Ndiaye, who played for Senegal at the recent FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.
The 17-year-old is slated to go into Rob Page’s Under-21 squad if the deal is completed with Amara Nallo expected to go on loan this month as a result.
The transfer has been arranged through Matt Newberry, who is Liverpool’s head of global talent at Anfield.

Ndiaye, who turns 18 tomorrow (January 6), is registered with Amitie Football Club in Senegal, who are owned by former Newcastle United and Chelsea striker Demba Ba.
Liverpool are also in talks with Austria Vienna over another young centre-back, Ifeanyi Ndukwe, with a view to signing him for the summer.
The Austria youth international is still just 17 but the Reds are hopeful of striking a deal that can be agreed for Ndukwe to move to Anfield for the start of pre-season training, which will begin in July.
The Vienna-born centre-half would initially be brought in as part of Page’s Under-21s squad, but the giant defender, who doesn’t turn 18 until March, is viewed as a teenager with the potential to eventually make the grade at senior level.
Austria reached the final of the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup, losing 1-0 in the final to Portugal, having thrashed England 4-0 in the round of 16.
