Juventus are reportedly considering making a loan offer to re-sign Federico Chiesa from Liverpool
Federico Chiesa has already confirmed that he would be open to a return to Juventus. The forward left the Serie A giants after finding himself surplus to requirements back in the summer of 2024, and went on to join Liverpool in an initial £10m deal.
The Italy international has ultimately found himself limited to a bit-part role at Anfield, having initially struggled with fitness issues following his move to England. While he has established himself as a firm fan-favourite, he has started only seven of his 32 appearances for the club over the past 18 months.
Featuring 19 times in the Premier League, Chiesa made only his second start in the English top-flight during last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Yet such an opportunity only fell his way with Mohamed Salah away at at the Africa Cup of Nations, Dominik Szoboszlai suspended, Alexander Isak ruled out with a leg fracture and Cody Gakpo only being fit enough for a place on the bench after making his return from a muscle injury.
Chiesa was then withdrawn on the hour-mark as Arne Slot sent on Conor Bradley, with Jeremie Frimpong pushing further forward into the right-wing role. Consequently, the Italian remains down the pecking order under the Dutchman.
The 28-year-old was heavily linked with a return to Italy both last January and in the summer, only to end up staying put at Anfield.
But with the January transfer window set to open later this week, he is again being tipped for a Liverpool exit with reports in Italy suggesting that Juventus are weighing up whether to make a loan offer to bring Chiesa back to Turin.
The forward has previously publicised his desire to stay put and prove himself with the Reds on a number of occasions.
However, he did also open the door on a return to Italy last summer as he admitted he would be interested in rejoining Juventus if the opportunity ever arose.
“Never say never,” he told Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, “I still love the club and the fans.”
Meanwhile, he admitted to Corriere dello Sport that he had wanted to stay at Juventus but was left with no other choice but to leave after speaking to new manager Thiago Motta.
“Motta was clear with me: I don’t need you, find a team,” he recalled. “I told him I was ready to fight, to put myself to the test because I wanted to stay and show that I was still useful to Juventus.
“But there was nothing I could do. It’s okay, it was his choice.”
After joining Liverpool in August 2024, Chiesa moved to set the record straight on his Juventus exit in an emotional post on social media.
“It’s time to end this journey with you, black and white fans,” Chiesa wrote on Instagram. “I would like to dedicate a few words to thank you for the great affection you have always shown me, affection that I will always carry in my heart.
“I have grown with you and with Juventus, both as a man and as a football player. You have supported me in good times and in difficult times, and for this I will always be grateful to you.
“Over the past four years I have had the opportunity to work with players, staff and coaches of the highest level.
“You have been like a family to me and, even in the most complicated moments, you have helped me get back up. I will always carry with me the joyful memories that we shared.
“Now, while saying goodbye, I would like to clarify the issue of the renewal. I have never received any offer of renewal from Juventus and, consequently, there has never been a request from me or my entourage regarding an increase or a reduction in my salary.
“I was informed that I would not be part of the project even before the start of training with the team.
“I thank you once again for your constant support. Thank you, Juventus. Until the end.”
