UFC White House fight card in full as Conor McGregor and Jon Jones snubbed

UFC CEO Dana White finally revealed the White House card in full as the promotion heads to Donald Trump’s front lawn in Washington DC this summer

Ilia Topuria will defend his lightweight world title against Justin Gaethje in the main event of the UFC’s White House card.

In the co-main event, Alex Pereira will move up to heavyweight to take on Ciryl Gane for the interim title on June 14 while champion Tom Aspinall recovers from double eye surgery. There is no place for Conor McGregor who revealed earlier he had been snubbed for the card and is set to return to action on July 11.

There is a spot for Michael Chandler who had long been linked with a clash with McGregor on President Donald Trump’s front lawn. He will take on Mauricio Ruffy while former bantamweight world champion Sean O’Malley will take on Aiemann Zahabi. The six-fight card is rounded out by Bo Nickal vs Kyle Daukaus and Diego Lopes vs Steve Garcia.

UFC CEO Dana White said: “We’re in a unique position here where we have these guys like Pereira, who has the opportunity to become a three-way champion, and Ilia Topuria is one of those guys, too. But right now, the timing is right for him and Justin Gaethje and that should be explosive.

“This card was a lot more difficult to put together than we had anticipated, but we got it done. A fight fell out last night; the matchmaking team was literally in the office all night last night working on this thing. It’s done, we’re ready to roll. Here we come, Washington, D.C.”

White was non-committal on the future of heavyweight champion Aspinall, adding: ‘(Pereira is) moving up and taking on a guy like Ciryl Gane… the way that these two strike, it’s going to be very, very interesting. And should he win the fight, then we figure out what’s going on with Tom Aspinall – it could be him versus Aspinall.”

The announcement also confirmed there will be no dramatic return for former light-heavyweight and heavyweight champion Jon Jones who had been linked with a clash with Pereira after the Brazilian’s decision to relinquish his 205lb belt and move up a division.
