Mohamed Salah and Liverpool are destined for a surprise farewell in January after the Egyptian forward dropped a bombshell interview after being left on the bench for three straight games
Mohamed Salah’s transfer value has dropped after his start to the season for Liverpool amid ongoing speculation over a possible January exit. Salah only signed a new deal at the club in April, but a fallout with Arne Slot has raised serious concerns.
Salah’s future at Anfield is in doubt after he accused the club of throwing him under the bus. The 33-year-old’s explosive interview also saw him claim he had no relationship with manager Arne Slot.
He was left out of the squad for Tuesday night’s win over Inter in the Champions League. Showdown talks with Slot are expected to play out in the coming days before he jets off to the African Cup of Nations.

A January move is incredibly likely, although Saturday’s Premier League clash against Brighton won’t be an Anfield farewell for Salah, with the club keen to protect any future transfer fee.
It’s been reported that several Saudi Arabian clubs are willing to do ‘whatever it takes’ to sign Salah when the transfer window opens. Al-Hilal, Al-Qadisah and Neom are all thought to be interested, with US sides San Diego and Chicago Fire also keeping tabs on the situation.
In September 2023, Al-Ittihad launched a huge £150mllion offer, but Liverpool rejected it. Saudi Pro League chief executive Omar Mugharbel has recently confirmed that the forward is of interest to clubs.
However, according to CIES Football Observatory’s player values, Salah’s overall value is now just €35million (£30m). That’s a drastic drop from the bid from Saudi Arabia in 2023 and a decrease from the €50m (£43.8m) in June.
It’s said that Salah’s value decrease is a result of his age, he turns 34 in the summer, and his poor numbers and Liverpool’s results. The Reds are currently 10th in the Premier League table, losing six of their first 15 games.

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.
