Mohamed Salah has received an offer that would completely shatter any remaining bridges he has left at Liverpool
Mohamed Salah has received an offer from Piers Morgan that will make Liverpool officials even more twitchy. Salah said he had been “thrown under a bus” and had no relationship with head coach Arne Slot after being left on the bench for a third straight game against Leeds on Saturday.
In response to his bombshell comments, Liverpool withdrew him from the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League trip to Inter Milan. There is a real possibility Salah may have played his last game for the club, with Saudi Pro League sides monitoring his situation ahead of the January transfer window.
With the relationship between club and player wafer-thin at best, Salah has been sent an offer by broadcaster Morgan, whose infamous chat with Cristiano Ronaldo put the death nail in the Portuguese star’s second Manchester United spell.

In response to Salah’s scathing comments, Morgan reacted on X: “Wow… maybe time for an interview @MoSalah?”
In November 2022, Ronaldo gave an explosive interview to Morgan in which he criticised the Glazer family, the standard of facilities at the club and then-manager Erik ten Hag. His contract was subsequently terminated by United, paving the way for him to join Al-Nassr, where he continues to ply his trade.
Ronaldo’s comments triggered a mixed reaction. Some United fans welcomed his brutal honesty, insisting the club needed to hear some hard truths. However, others slammed what they saw as a petulant outburst by a player whose emotional return had fallen flat.
Liverpool, and in particular Slot, will be hoping Salah doesn’t take up Morgan’s offer. At present, a truce appears unlikely, although it is not impossible.
However, any further public tirades from the 33-year-old, and in particular to someone of Morgan’s profile, would surely end his Anfield career for good. The Reds are also having to consider the ramifications for the rest of the squad.
Goalkeeper Alisson Becker has admitted: “This is not a situation that makes us happy, first and foremost because on a personal level we all love Mo.
“He is a hugely important player for the team, he is a wonderful human being, he is a spectacular footballer and has been very important for the club.”
He added: “We were a little bit caught by surprise (by Salah’s comments) but we know it is a personal situation, so we are leaving it between him and the club. What we believe does not come into things.
“What we want is for him and the club to reach an agreement in the best interests of him and the club and all of the playing staff. I hope he plays again for the club. That’s a personal situation between Mo and the club.
“We as his team-mates and his friends, we hope the best thing happens for him, but as Liverpool FC players we want the best for the club as well. We want a win-win situation for everyone.”
