The Liverpool squad have been told what they need to do in the wake of Mohamed Salah’s explosive interview
Liverpool players have been urged to take action after Mohamed Salah was accused of putting team-mates at risk with his fiery interview. The Reds forward lashed out in the wake of his side’s 3-3 draw with Leeds United on Saturday after being dropped to the bench for the third match in a row.
The Egyptian star claimed he has been “thrown under the bus” by the club and has no relationship with Arne Slot. Salah has been left out of the squad for Liverpool’s Champions League clash at Inter Milan on Tuesday night.
Slot admitted on Monday that he doesn’t know whether the 33-year-old will play for the Reds again after expressing “surprise” at his comments. Concerns have now been raised by former Liverpool and Everton defender Conor Coady about the impact his outburst could have on the dressing room.

The ex-England star, who currently plays for Wrexham in the Championship, has urged the club’s players to put their friendship with Salah to one side and focus on addressing their slump in form.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 LiveCoady said: “He should never, ever go to the press and do what he’s done, because you put your teammates in jeopardy. That’s the most important thing. That’s the biggest wrongdoing that you can do in my eyes.
“Of course he’ll have friends within the changing room who will be with him and listening to him. They’ll be saying, ‘Yeah, you’re in the right here Mo’ or whatever it is.
“But I just think when you see something like that, especially when you’re not playing well and results aren’t going your way, you want anything to get you through it as a team.
“It’s alright saying, ‘We’ll back Mo here,’ but the biggest thing for you is still playing in the game, to win games and to make yourself look better. I think the leaders within that group, your Van Dijks, have got a huge role to play now.”
Alisson Becker has insisted the Liverpool team is not being distracted by the Salah row after he publicly gave Slot his backing. The Brazilian goalkeeper’s comments were made after Salah took part in a training session on Monday.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.
Alisson said: “After the interview I thought it would be really weird but it wasn’t. We know it’s a personal situation and we respect that. We played our last game on Saturday night and there’s not been too much time.
“Time together at training was to rest and recover and focus on a huge team. This isn’t a situation that makes us happy. On a personal level we all love Mo and he’s a hugely important player for the team.”
Alisson answered firmly when asked whether he is still fully behind the club’s head coach, saying: “Of course, yes. Why? The Premier League last season. Before Arne came in everyone was talking about the huge challenge of substituting Jurgen Klopp.
“It looks like everyone takes for granted what we achieved last season. That should be enough but we believe in his knowledge, his style of playing that he is capable of helping us to turn around this situation. My relationship with the manager is fine.”
