Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has opened up on his recent frustrations around the club, following the decision to drop him to the bench, with his future at the club now uncertain.
Mohamed Salah is facing an uncertain future at Liverpool, after a bombshell interview with reporters where he claimed that he was disappointed with being dropped, while believing that the club was throwing him under the bus for their recent struggles. It came as the Egyptian international was named on the bench for the third Premier League game in a row, as eyebrows were raised at his recent absence from the side.
It seems as though the problems have been bubbling away in the background, leading up to the point where he told reporters that the Brighton game could be his final one, as he is unsure what will happen after AFCON. While Arne Slot maintained that Salah responded well in training in the moments before that outburst, just after Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Leeds United, it seems as though there was a turning point.
According to The Athleticthat moment came on the Friday before the Leeds match, with the report claiming that team-mates were ‘braced for it’, with the dressing room seemingly noticing a change in Salah.

It appears that day was when the winger was told that he would be left out of the starting team once again, coming with great frustration.
It comes as further answers over his future are expected in the coming days, as Slot conducts his pre-match press conference on Monday evening, ahead of the Champions League tie with Inter Milan.
Salah’s involvement in the game is unclear, as the travelling squad is yet to be revealed, with the ordeal likely to overshadow much of the build-up to the game.
There is further pressure heaped on Slot himself, with a run of one win in the last six games across all competitions leaving the manager still searching for solutions.
Some fans are unsure over the future of the 47-year-old, even with his Premier League title win last season, and comments from Salah won’t have done much to win all of them back over.
“There’s no relationship between us,” the Egyptian international said on his current position with Slot. “It was very good relationship and now all of a sudden there is no relationship.”
Salah has played 71 times under the head coach, scoring 39 times and assisting 26 times across all competitions, impressing particularly in the title win last season.
There is a clear challenge there for Slot to turn around Liverpool’s form, after struggling to gain any rhythm and consistency in their results.
“Really hard but it’s not about me,” the manager said when asked about the mood in the dressing room after the draw with Leeds. “It’s about what the players feel, what the fans feel, what everyone who loves this football club feels.
“I think we all feel the same at this moment. But what I also hope everyone sees is these players are fighting really, really, really hard and combine that with good football. Again today, we hardly conceded a chance. We hardly conceded a chance and concede three goals.”
Inter Milan provide another tough test for the Reds, having been recent Champions League finalists and regular competitors for the Scudetto in Serie A.
All eyes will be on whether Salah travels with the squad and if he starts for the side, while a decision and result either way will only bring up further questions on what is next for the winger and the club in their journey.
Liverpool then welcome Brighton to Anfield in what Salah has hinted at as his potential final game for the club, before he joins up with the Egypt squad for AFCON.
