Former Arsenal star Tony Cascerino has weighed in on what should happen for the Gunners to beat Manchester City to win the Premier League this season. The North London side holds 70 points from 31 games and are at the top of the league table at this time.
Arsenal lost two trophies this season despite having the chance to secure a historic quadruple this season. They lost the Carabao Cup final 2-0 to Manchester City ahead of the international break. Further, they suffered a 2-0 loss to Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-final, bowing out of the tournament. However, the Gunners still remain nine points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, with hopes of them winning the title high.

In an interview with talkSPORTformer Gunners star Tony Cascerino shared his take on what should happen for his ex-side to win the Premier League. He said:
“I would say if you ask me today and Arsenal have to go to the Etihad and get a victory, I think City will beat them. I think eight out 10 times at the moment City would beat Arsenal. I think it’s really important that Chelsea who City play next away that Chelsea get some sort of result for Arsenal. I think they need a bit more help from other teams. I don’t see Arsenal winning every game, I just don’t.”
He continued:
“I think all Arsenal fans will be shell-shocked today at what they’ve witnessed. There a good side, we know they are. They’ve led the way all season but for this period of the season to then look vulnerable that would be a concern.”
The Gunners can still win the Premier League and the Champions League this season if they continue in good form and win the remaining games. They next face Bournemouth in the league on April 11 and clash against Sporting CP in the UCL quarter-finals.

In the post-game press conference, Mikel Arteta opened up on his side’s priorities after losing the FA Cup quarter-final to Southampton. He spoke about what his side should do to return to their winning ways amid the title race with Manchester City, saying (via the official website):
“Giving (the players) clarity, even more conviction now, and trusting the players – believing in what we’re doing, continuing to do that with little tricks that every game demands. But especially, maintaining the spirit, the attitude and the energy at the highest possible level, because that’s critical to perform at the level that we need to win matches.”
Arteta’s side is set to face Manchester City in the Premier League on April 19, which is set to be a key game in deciding the Premier League title. Although Manchester City is nine points behind the Gunners, they have a game in hand and could catch up soon if the latter do not continue to win the league.
