Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has advised Arsenal to play dirty against Manchester City. He claimed that the result in the Premier League clash was more important than the reaction of the fans.
Speaking on BBC’s The Wayne Rooney ShowRooney said that Manchester City will go into the game with the psychological advantage after closing the gap in the Premier League title race. He believes that the Cityzens will be able to keep calm on the pitch, while the Arsenal players will be afraid of losing once again. He said:

“I think City will have the edge on that, just purely the manager and players they’ve got. They will be able to stay a little calmer than the Arsenal players. They will be worried because when you go on a run and lose a few games, you start thinking ‘where’s the next goal, the next win going to come from?’ That negative mindset really has an impact on your performance.”
Rooney believes that the Gunners will have to play dirty and stop Manchester City from winning the match at the Etihad. He does not think the fan reaction to their tactics in the game should be Mikel Arteta’s focus and said:
“Whether the fans like that type of football or not, they have to do anything to stop City winning. They need to be resilient enough to stop City from scoring.”
Manchester City are six points behind the Gunners in the title race with a game in hand. The two teams clash this weekend in the Premier League, and a win would see the Cityzens close the gap to three points.
Gary Neville sends message to Arsenal ahead of Manchester City clash
Gary Neville has warned Arsenal that their Premier League title rivals Manchester City are finding form at the right time. He believes that the Cityzens have found the confidence and said on Sky Sports:
