AS Monaco attacker Maghnes Akliouche is reportedly attracting strong Premier League interest, with new claims from French outlet MediaFoot suggesting that Arsenal have already held talks over a potential deal. The report adds that the North London club are looking to move early in an attempt to fend off competition from domestic rivals CHELSEA.

Akliouche has broken through impressively at Monaco this season, becoming one of Ligue 1’s standout young attacking talents. Capable of operating as an attacking midfielder or wide forward, he has caught the eye with his creativity, close control, and goal threat in advanced areas. His performances have reportedly sparked interest across Europe, but it is England where the strongest pursuit appears to be emerging.

According to a report from MediaFoot report, intermediaries have been active in presenting Akliouche’s situation to several clubs, with ARSENAL believed to be among those most keen to progress talks. Chelsea, who continue to target young attacking profiles, are also monitoring developments closely.

Monaco are expected to command a substantial fee given Akliouche’s age, contract length, and growing influence within the squad. However, the French side have historically been open to major sales when valuations are met, meaning Premier League interest is likely to intensify as the summer approaches.

Arsenal are expected to be in the market for an attacking reinforcement capable of offering depth behind Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Martin Ødegaard. Meanwhile, CHELSEA’s recruitment model, heavily focused on emerging talents, keeps Akliouche firmly within their scouting framework.

Would Akliouche Be a Good Signing for Arsenal?

From a stylistic perspective, Akliouche would represent an intriguing fit for Mikel Arteta’s system. He is technically sharp, comfortable in tight spaces, and capable of receiving between the lines—traits central to Arsenal’s positional play. His ability to play across multiple attacking roles also mirrors the versatility Arteta values in his forward unit.

Moreover, Akliouche is still developing, meaning he would arrive as a long-term investment rather than a fully formed starter. This reduces pressure and aligns with ARSENAL’s broader recruitment strategy of blending elite youth with established Premier League performers.

However, he remains relatively inexperienced at the highest level, and a significant fee would carry some risk.

Still, given his trajectory, age profile, and suitability to Arsenal’s style, Akliouche could prove a smart, high-upside signing if the club decide to push ahead.
