Arsenal have identified Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as a target this summer, but Paris Saint-Germain have made their position absolutely clear.
According to a report by Caught Offside, the French champions will not entertain offers for the 25-year-old Georgian international unless a club comes in with a bid in the region of €180 million. For context, that would make him one of the most expensive transfers in football history.
A source citing the above mentioned report said: “Arsenal’s recruitment team would have really liked to sign Kvaratskhelia, but PSG have bolted the door. PSG aren’t going to sell, well, maybe if Arsenal offered €180m, but that’s not going to happen.”
That kind of language from within the process tells you everything about how realistic this particular pursuit is right now.
Arsenal have already seen an earlier enquiry hit a brick wall, and PSG’s latest stance confirms that nothing has changed from their end. The Gunners are in the market for a top-class left-sided attacker this summer, and Kvaratskhelia would tick every box but at that price, the numbers simply do not add up.

Since joining PSG from Napoli in January 2025, Kvaratskhelia has developed into one of the most dangerous wide attackers in European football. He was already catching eyes at Napoli at PSG, operating in a higher-pressure environment with greater tactical demands, he has taken another clear step forward.
For Arsenal, who are looking to address the left wing as a priority this summer, a player of that profile is exactly what Mikel Arteta needs to take the squad to the next level. The problem is not the player. It is the price, and the seller’s complete lack of motivation to do business.
Why Arsenal need a Kvaratskhelia-type signing even if PSG say no
The underlying issue that has driven Arsenal’s interest in Kvaratskhelia is not going to resolve itself just because one avenue is closed. Gabriel Martinelli has been inconsistent in recent seasons and is widely linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.
Leandro Trossard, while impressive over the past two campaigns, is on the wrong side of 30 and cannot be considered a long-term solution on the left. Arteta needs a high-quality wide attacker capable of contributing at the top of the Premier League and in the UEFA Champions League for the next four or five years.
That is a short list of players, and Kvaratskhelia is near the top of it. PSG slamming the door on that pursuit means Arsenal’s recruitment team will have to look elsewhere, and doing so quickly matters. Other clubs are active in the same market, and leaving a key positional need unaddressed heading into a summer where Arsenal are trying to push for major honours would be a significant misstep.
