Chris Eubank Jr has become a dad to two boys as the boxer celebrated his ‘greatest achievement’ after their birth

Chris Eubank Jr has hailed the birth of his twin boys as the greatest achievement of his life.

Eubank Jr took to social media to announce the boys’ arrival on Tuesday and said: “I’ve done a lot of great things in my life… This is the greatest.” The fighter did not provide any further details and the mother of his children remains private.

Eubank Jr revealed he was to become a father days before his second fight with Conor Benn last November. “So yes many of you guessed it. I will soon be joining the dad gang,” he wrote on social media.

“Only difference is I’ll be joining as a father of two! Twin boys! I’m so grateful for such a blessing and I will do my absolute best to give them the happiest upbringing I possibly can… Just like my old man did for me.”

Eubank Jr has had a fractured relationship with his own dad but repaired the rift a year ago before he first fought Benn. He told his dad he would become a grandad again on a BBC documentary and added: “”It’s a massive thing to have him back in my life, especially now, because he is their grandfather and that’s a very important relationship.

“I hate to think that two years ago – when we hadn’t spoken for a couple of years – if I had a kid then, what would I do?”

And of his decision to keep his private life just that, he said: “What people don’t know and what people don’t see, they cannot target, they cannot ruin, they cannot try to interfere with.

“If you look at all these high-profile relationships, how many of them last? Cheating, scandal, divorce, whatever it is, social media does nothing but ruin relationships. I experienced it with my mother and father. Their split was very public and it was hard to watch and it was embarrassing.

“Everybody knew my parents were getting divorced and I knew, from that age, that – whatever relationship I got into – I wasn’t going to make it public.” And while his dad actively prevented his heir apparent from pulling on a pair of gloves, Eubank Jr will encourage it. “I am excited for them to grow and to learn what their father did.”
