Arsenal have received a triple boost from injury before their big Champions League quarter final first leg against Sporting CP. The match is going to happen on Tuesday which is 7th of April in Lisbon.

The Triple Boost for Arsenal

Arsenal fans were worried after some recent injuries and a tough FA Cup loss. But on Monday, three important players returned to training namely Gabriel Magalhaes, Declan Rice, and Leandro Trossard. Arteta confirmed their fitness with a simple “yes” when asked.

Gabriel Magalhaes is a strong centre-back. He picked up a knock in the FA Cup game against Southampton and left the pitch with ice on his leg. Many feared he might miss the big European tie but he trained well on Monday and looks ready to play. Gabriel is very important for Arsenal’s defence as he helps stop attacks and starts build-up play from the back.

Declan Rice is the midfield engine as he works hard to win the ball and protect the defense, however, Rice had a small fitness issue and missed some time. His return gives Arsenal more control in the middle of the park as he is known for his energy and smart passing.

Leandro Trossard adds creativity in attack as the Belgian can play on the wings or up front. He brings goals and assists with his quick feet and clever movement and his fitness boost gives Arteta more options to attack Sporting CP. This triple boost comes at the perfect time as Arsenal had many injury worries after the international break, but these three players are now available for the trip to Portugal.

Players Still Missing Even after Arsenal Injury Boost

Not all news is good as Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber will miss the game. As per reportsthey stayed in England and did not travel with the team. Saka is Arsenal’s star winger, and Timber is a useful defender. Their absence is a blow, but Arteta has other players who can step up, like Noni Madueke or Ben White. Other players like Eberechi Eze and Mikel Merino are also out due to ongoing issues. Piero Hincapie has some doubts too but the return of Gabriel, Rice, and Trossard helps balance things.

Arsenal had a strong run in the Champions League football, winning all their games. They then beat Bayer Leverkusen to reach the quarter-finals, however, Sporting CP are a tough team from Portugal. They play with high energy and good technique at home in the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

A solid defence with Gabriel will be key against Sporting’s fast attacks. Rice will help control the game in midfield. Trossard can create chances on the counter-attack. Arsenal want to get a good result in the first leg before the return match at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta knows the importance of this tie as reaching the semi-finals would be a big step for the club. The Gunners have shown they can compete with top European teams this season.

What’s Left Ahead?

This fitness boost lifts the team’s spirits after a difficult domestic period. Arsenal can now focus fully on the Champions League as well as Premier League. The fans hope these three players start and help the team get an advantage in Lisbon.

The upcoming match will very likely be exciting, because Arsenal have performed better and have a stronger fitness level for significant portions of the game. If they stay organized and play smartly, then they have an excellent opportunity to advance.

As a consequence, they have a much greater chance of achieving a successful outcome with Gabriel, Rice and Trossard returning to full strength, their chances of winning are now very high. This first leg quarter finals match could prove to be a pivotal moment in Arsenal’s European campaign moving forward.
