Rio Ferdinand says Arsenal will be “in trouble” if Man City can get within “touching distance” before the end of the season.
Pep Guardiola‘s side are currently nine points adrift of the Gunners, albeit with a game in hand, but Ferdinand thinks that, if the gap closes, it could play into the hands of City:
“This isn’t a slight at Arsenal and their players, but at this moment it’s about who deals with the pressure best, and experience counts for a lot.”
“Man City have that, so if they get within touching distance of Arsenal, you guys are going to be in trouble because there’s been a momentum shift.”
What are the chances of Man City winning the title?
Statisticians Opta don’t believe the Cityzens will catch Arsenal. They have given Guardiola’s men a 2.37% chance of finishing top of the table.
The Gunners, in contrast, are regarded as strong favourites, with the odds of winning their first title in over two decades currently rated at 97.63%.
Of course, those percentages will change if the gap between the two teams narrows over the coming weeks.

Man City face Arsenal later this month
There are some massive matches coming up, which could help City build up momentum or halt them in their tracks.
After their trip to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this weekend, they will then take on the Gunners at the Etihad. If they can win both matches, it would put them right back in contention.
Winning their remaining 8 fixtures is all they can really do to put the maximum pressure on the Premier League leaders, but as Ferdinand says, it could end up paying off if their title rivals do drop more points.
