“Glasner revealed on Friday that he would be leaving Palace at the end of the season. That was widely expected anyway and is not understood to have altered United’s thinking.”
Chelsea push for Jacquet
Jeremy Jacquet could be nearing a move to Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old Rennes central defender had also been a target for Bayern Munich and Arsenal, who are set to miss out.
“The 20-year-old has long been on their radar along with other names, such as Jacobo Ramon at Como, but competition from Bayern Munich and Arsenal has accelerated Chelsea’s plans.
“Liverpool are also in the market for a top centre back this summer.
“Talks between Chelsea and Rennes have been held this week as the Stamford Bridge club look to move ahead of their rivals.”
Sunderland open to Patterson and Neil sales
Sunderland are ready to sell both Anthony Patterson and Dan Neil, but do not want to let Romaine Mundle leave.
Mundle is wanted in the Championship and by Scottish side Rangers, but Regis Le Bris has no interest in selling.
“The 20-year-old has penned a four-and-a-half-year deal following his arrival from five-time Israeli champions Maccabi Netanya.
“Despite Ta Bi’s arrival, Sunderland’s 15th signing since winning promotion last season, they want to hang on to left winger Romaine Mundle even though a host of Championship clubs and Rangers (are) keen.
“But ruthless Regis Le Bris is open to offloading local heroes Anthony Patterson and Dan Neil.”
Guehi set for City medical
Crystal Palace central defender Marc Guehi is expected to have his Manchester City medical on Sunday.
The England international is poised to move after City beat Liverpool and Arsenal for his signature.
“News broke on Friday that City had struck a deal with Crystal Palace for their influential captain, who would have been available on a free transfer at the end of the season with his contract expiring. City’s early move was designed to fend off rival interest from clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool, both of whom were poised to make a play for Guehi in the summer.
“Guehi came close to joining Liverpool in a £35 million deal back in the summer, only for Crystal Palace to pull the plug on the deal at the 11th hour of deadline day.”
