Juve tempted by Mateta

Juventus are reportedly interested in launching a bid to sign French striker Jean-Philippe Mateta from Crystal Palace.

Sky Italia say the Serie A giants have already made an initial inquiry, but that the Eagles are holding out for a fee in the region of €30-€35 ​​million (£26-30m).

Mateta has been transformed since Oliver Glasner’s arrival at Selhurst Park and has produced eight goals in 21 Premier League appearances this term.

Atletico eye Premier League replacement for Gallagher

Spanish outlet Marca are reporting that Atletico Madrid would like to sign Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes as a replacement for Conor Gallagher.
The England international joined Tottenham this month following a season and a half in Spain, leaving a big hole in the heart of Diego Simeone’s team.
Wolves may have struggled this season but Gomes has been one of their best players, producing an 86% pass completion rate in 20 Premier League appearances.

Palace close on another French forward

With Mateta linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace are closing on the signing of French forward Sidiki Cherif from Ligue 1 Angers, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

Cherif, 19, has impressed during the first half of the 2025/26 campaign, scoring four goals in 17 league appearances to help his side into tenth place in the table.

Not only has Mateta been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, but Ismaila Sarr is still away at the Africa Cup of Nations, and Eddie Nketiah has been injury prone since arriving from Arsenal.

Plettenberg believes that Eintracht Frankfurt were also interested in securing Cherif’s signature this month.
