Juve tempted by Mateta
Sky Italia say the Serie A giants have already made an initial inquiry, but that the Eagles are holding out for a fee in the region of €30-€35 million (£26-30m).
“The coach likes the player, but Crystal Palace’s current asking price is high, between €30 and €35 million.
“Juve have initiated an initial inquiry and appear intent on continuing negotiations.”

Atletico eye Premier League replacement for Gallagher
“The Englishman leaves behind a €40 million transfer fee, and Atletico, as we reported in Marca, have set themselves a primary objective: to acquire a central midfielder.
“And that’s where Joao Gomes, the Wolves midfielder, comes in. He’s 24 years old, a Brazilian international (having earned 10 caps), and one of the best players on the English team.”
Palace close on another French forward
With Mateta linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace are closing on the signing of French forward Sidiki Cherif from Ligue 1 Angers, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.
Not only has Mateta been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, but Ismaila Sarr is still away at the Africa Cup of Nations, and Eddie Nketiah has been injury prone since arriving from Arsenal.
Plettenberg believes that Eintracht Frankfurt were also interested in securing Cherif’s signature this month.
“Sidiki Cherif is on the verge of joining Crystal Palace,” he posted on X.
“An agreement has been reached with the 19 y/o talented striker.
“The next step is to finalise the details with Angers. As always reported: Eintracht Frankfurt were interested, but it was never advanced up to this point.
“It is unlikely that SGE will enter the race despite the injury to Younes Ebnoutalib.”
Brentford target Chancellors
Gazzetta dello Sport say that Brentford are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Italian international Matteo Cancellieri from Serie A side Lazio.

Gazzetta dello Sport believe that the agreed fee is in the region of €18 million (£15.5m) and that Lazio will turn to 19-year-old forward Rayan as a replacement.
“At that point, Lazio will have to decide on Brazilian Rayan to replace him (an offer of €25 million (£27m), an asking price of €35 million (£30m), but negotiations are open).”
