Yan Diomande admits Liverpool ‘dream’ as winger opens door to ‘crazy’ January transfer

Yan Diomande and Christos Tzolis have both opened the door to future transfers to Liverpool

Yan Diomande has revealed it would be a dream come true to play for Liverpool one day. The 19-year-old joined RB Leipzig in the summer from La Liga side Leganes after they activated his €20m release clause.

Having impressed in his breakthrough season in the Spanish top-flight, returning two goals from 10 appearances, he has been one of the standout stars in the Bundesliga this season following his move to RB Leipzig.

The teenager, who is capable of playing as both a right-winger and a left-winger, boasts seven goals and four assists from 16 appearances since signing for the German outfit.

Such form has already seen him linked with a big-money move away from RB Leipzig, with a number of sides being linked with his services.

But Diomande has revealed that he is a Liverpool fan and considers it a ‘dream’ to play for the Reds.

Answering questions on a TikTok live stream, the Ivory Coast international shared his affiliation for the Reds when asked if he had a dream club.

“Yes, I do,” he said. “I want to play at Anfield, I want to play for Liverpool. I’m a big fan of Liverpool.

“I’m a big fan of Liverpool because my father’s dream is to see me play at Anfield. So that’s my dream.

“You know, to fulfil my father’s dream is a dream for me too.”

Diomande is not the only player to recently share his desire to join Liverpool.

Christos Tzolis has shone for Club Brugge this season, with the 23-year-old returning 11 goals and 15 assists from 30 appearances so far this season.

While the Greek has played down talk of a possible January exit, he admits he would reconsider such a stance if the Reds or Barcelona made a move for his services.

“I want to go to a top team. That’s all I can say,” he told The Newspaper. “I’m not aware of any concrete interest at the moment, so I’m not even considering it.

“Maybe you know more than I do! I’d like to win the title here first. Although you never know, so I can’t say with 100% certainty that I’ll stay this winter.

“If a crazy team comes along, like Barcelona, Liverpool… Anyway, you know what I mean. But I don’t think that will happen in the winter.

“Don’t get me wrong: I’m really happy here. But I feel ready for a team that’s competing for trophies in one of the four biggest European leagues.

“That’s my ambition. I only want to leave Club Brugge for a truly top team.”
