Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has jokingly suggested he may have a career on the catwalk when his time with football comes to an end.
The central defender is one of the best centre-backs of his generation and will always be known for his time on the pitch. However, he recently swapped the Anfield turf for the Vogue studios as part of a photo shoot with the elusive fashion magazine.
He posed for numerous pictures, including one where he was draped in a Liverpool flag. During his appearance, he was asked whether he could see himself in more fashion shoots.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.
The 34-year-old laughed, “I mean…Never say never” while speaking to Vogue. Of course, there is no inclination that he will soon be trading the pitch for the catwalk.
Van Dijk has a contract at Anfield until 2027. He put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension before the end of last season.
He was named captain after Jordan Henderson departed the club to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq in the summer of 2013. The Dutchman put in another titanic performance in the 0-0 draw with Premier League leaders Arsenal.
After the Gunners failed to breach Arne Slot’s side’s backline, Van Dijk said: “If you play for Liverpool, you have to play with confidence and still be confident even if it has been a very inconsistent season.
“There is an opportunity every three or four days. You want to go out there and enjoy yourself, but also to show your quality with every moment that you have.
“There was a lot of noise around this game and a lot of talk around this game, and we managed everything pretty well and we had the biggest chance in the end with the ball on the crossbar. Listen, we have had very good performances throughout the season but not for 90 minutes.
“We have been very inconsistent, and consistency is the key to being successful and that has been proven. That is what we had last year and unfortunately in that sense we haven’t been good enough this season.
“The only thing we can do is try and get it back and every three or four days we have an opportunity to do that. But we also need consistency in no injuries and that is unfortunately part of the game, and we are dealing with that as well.”
Liverpool host Barnsley in the third round of the FA Cup this weekend. After the League One side, the Reds return to Anfield to host Burnley, before travelling to France to face Marseille in the Champions League.
