At Turf Moor, Darren Fletcher (not our Darren) will occupy the away dugout as Manchester United seek a morale-boosting victory against Burnley under interim leadership. Yet the sudden nature of Amorim’s departure raises questions over how events will unfold as United attempt to steady the ship.
The list of midweek fixtures culminates at the Emirates Stadium with leaders Arsenal putting their advantage over Manchester City on the line at home to defending champions Liverpool. McCoist and Fletcher have both predicted the same scoreline but do you agree?

Arsenal v Liverpool
Ally: “I can’t see anything other than a home win for Arsenal. It was an incredible performance and result against a tough opponent that they have found in the past, Aston Villa. With Liverpool, it just does not look right there. Things are just going so well for Arsenal at the moment with Chelsea’s late equaliser against City, Liverpool dropping points and their own form, in particular their result against Villa. I’m going for another home win.”
Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Liverpool
Fletch: “I just don’t think Liverpool are very good this season. There is something not right. Balance, players, people losing form, injuries, AFCON, (Arne) Slot not quite getting it. This would have been a really even game before the season started – you might even have given Liverpool the edge – but it feels like Arsenal are so far out in front of Liverpool at the minute. Liverpool just feel vulnerable against good teams.”
Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Liverpool
