Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will make history by running it back in the first professional boxing bout to ever be held at The Las Vegas Sphere in September, it has been announced.
Mayweather and Pacquiao, two of boxing’s biggest legends, clashed back in a bout which was dubbed the ‘Fight of the Century’ back in 2015, with the former emerging victorious. Both men have since called time on their legendary careers – or so it seemed.
Netflix have now confirmed that Mayweather Pacquiao II will take place on September 19 at The Las Vegas Sphere in another huge get for the streaming behemoth, who televised Anthony Joshua’s huge fight with Jake Paul back in December.
The rematch between Mayweather and Pacquiao could turn out to be the most lucrative in boxing history with their previous clash at the MGM Grand Garden Arena generating a gargantuan £4.6million in pay-per-view buys, as well as a record gate of $72.2m (£53.5m).

Mayweather is understood to have earned $250m (£185.3m) for the initial fight while Pacquiao banked $150m (£111.2m).
‘Money’ Mayweather emerged victorious in the duo’s previous fight, winning on points. His perfect 50-0 record will be at stake in the rematch, it’s said, with the bout set to be a professionally sanctioned contest.
After the fight was announced, Pacquiao said: “Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history. The fans have waited long enough—they deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live globally on Netflix.
“I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him.
“As always, I dedicate this fight to my fellow Filipinos around the world and to bringing glory to the Philippines.”
Mayweather added: “I already fought and beat Manny once. This time will be the same result.”
Both fighters are expected to participate in warm-up bouts before locking horns again, with Pacquiao poised to meet Ruslan Provodnikov on April 18. Mayweather is likely to fight Mike Tyson the following week.
The fight will be the first boxing event to ever headline The Sphere and the second sports event in total after UFC 306, which was held at the venue back in September 2024.
