Gabriel Martinelli wants to stay at Arsenal, despite suggestions that he could be moved on in the summer.
The 24-year old will be entering the final year of his contract at the Emirates at the end of the season, and with the Gunners keen to strengthen their left-sided attacking options, he could be sold to raise the funds for them to do so.
However, Martinelli wants to stay and fight for his place, and prove that he still has something to offer to manager Mikel Arteta, and that he can be part of the long-term project at the Emirates.
It has been a mixed season for the Brazilian. Whilst he has been one of the stars of their Champions League campaign – his assist for Kai Havertz in their first-leg tie at Sporting his latest contribution – in the Premier League he has struggled to have the same impact. He has only scored once and provided three assists.
