Frankie Dettori retired for good with one more big race success in Brazil, landing the first leg of the country\u2019s Triple Crown. The legendary jockey had originally scheduled his retirement for Champions Day at Ascot in October 2023 only to reverse his decision to call it a day and continue his career in the US.<\/p>\n
The 55-year-old confirmed last November that his time there would come to an end at the Breeders\u2019 Cup at Del Mar ahead of a short farewell tour in South America ending at Gavea racecourse in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. He went on to ride two winners, the first on Speak Alpha, and then on Bet You Can in the Brazilian 2,000 Guineas, the Grande Premio Estado do Rio De Janeiro.<\/p>\n

He told Agentes305: \u201cI never expected to win a Group 1 on my last day. It\u2019s been brilliant<\/p>\n
\u201cI was very emotional. I enjoyed everything. I\u2019ve had a beautiful caarer and I\u2019m blessed I can walk out in one piece.<\/p>\n

Dettori has accepted a role as a global ambassador for Kia Joorabchian\u2019s Amo Racing, for whom he rode his final British Group 1 on King Of Steel in the Champion Stakes.<\/p>\n
Earlier in a social media post to fans, the jockey said: \u201cRacing has been my life. I began riding in Italy as a 15-year-old boy nearly 40 years ago, and this sport has given me everything.<\/p>\n
