In their final run-in, Arsenal face City, Newcastle United, Fulham, West Ham, Burnley and Palace. Arteta’s side can finish the campaign with a maximum of 88 points, which includes the points they’d pick up if they beat City – and would guarantee them the title.<\/p>\n
If City win all of their matches, including the game against Arsenal, they can only finish on 85. If Arsenal lose to City, but win the rest of their fixtures, they will also finish on 85, meaning goal difference would be needed to split them.<\/p>\n
Arsenal’s goal difference is currently +38, while City’s is +32. A 3-0 victory for Guardiola’s side next week would put both sides at +35.<\/p>\n
If their goal difference remains the same come the end of the season, it would then be a question of goals scored. At present, Arsenal are on 62 goals, while the Cityzens are on 60. The margins could not be much finer at present.<\/p>\n
While next week’s clash at the Etihad Stadium has been billed as a potential title decider, the results of City and Arsenal’s other games will likely decide what colour the ribbons on the Premier League trophy will be.<\/p>\n
Arsenal are also competing in the Champions League, while City are still in the FA Cup. Crucially, the Gunners face Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday night in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, which may have an effect on next Sunday’s huge clash.<\/p>\n
