It has been stated that the Gunners are trailing the Catalan club in the race to land the Argentine striker this summer.

Alvarez’s Impressive Form In La Liga

Alvarez is having a decent campaign at the Madrid club as he has been responsible for putting in a handful of impressive displays for them in the final third. The Argentina international has banged in 18 goals and grabbed nine assists in 45 matches for Diego Simeone’s side this season across all competitions.

The 26-year-old is currently one of the most feared strikers in La Liga. Therefore, the Gunners would do well to acquire his services this off-season.

His current deal at the Wanda Metropolitano will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Arsenal to sign him on the cheap later this year.

BARCELONA, SPAIN – APRIL 08: Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid looks on during the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Quarter-Final First Leg match between FC Barcelona and Club Atlético de Madrid at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on April 08, 2026 in Barcelona, Spain. He has got the vision to create some inviting chances in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. Alvarez has proven himself to be a reliable finisher in front of the opponent’s goal when he is playing with confidence on the pitch.

The Argentine talent is primarily a centre-forward but can also play as a winger on either flank if told to do so. He already knows the Premier League well from his time at Man City and won’t take much time to settle into life at Arsenal.

We can expect Alvarez to bring more firepower to Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He has what it takes to compete for a regular first-team spot at the North London club next season.

At 26, Alvarez is about to enter his prime, which makes him a worthy target for the Gunners to pursue in the summer transfer period. He will also help Arsenal compete for some major silverware over the next few years. With all things considered, Arteta would be wise to go all out to snap Alvarez up this off-season.

In a recent reportFichajes mentioned that Arsenal are set to rival Barcelona for Atletico Madrid

[1

post-1754","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-arsenal
["GET
