The Gunners are on a march to the Premier League title and the forward will want a part in that

Reports from Brazil and Europe have pointed in different directions. On one side, there has been talk of a return to Brazil, driven largely by his strong connection with Palmeiras.

However, that possibility has already been downplayed, with the player prioritising a longer stay in Europe before considering any move home.

On the other side, Italy has emerged as a concrete option. AC Milan have been repeatedly mentioned as a serious contender, with some reports even suggesting his Arsenal departure is fast approaching.

The 28-year-old is entering a decisive phase of his time in North London. His current deal still runs until June 2027. However, uncertainty around his long-term role remains, especially given competition in Mikel Arteta’s attack.

This season has again been disrupted by injury. Gabriel Jesus has made 21 appearances in all competitions, starting just seven. He has scored five goals and provided one assist.

Despite that, he has remained part of the rotation when fit. His pressing and movement continue to suit Arteta’s system, even without a guaranteed starting role.

Renewal remains top priority

According to ESPN Brazil journalist Bruno AndradeGabriel Jesus’ first choice is to stay at Arsenal and extend his contract. This goes against some earlier reporting.

Arsenal are yet to open formal talks with Gabriel Jesus over a new contract, but the striker has already made his stance clear behind the scenes.

Speaking about the situation, Andrade explained: “His intention is a renewal. Arsenal, for now, haven’t called him to talk, they haven’t given him an idea about the future.”

He also made clear that the player feels settled.

“Gabriel Jesus is well, he’s confident, he’s being used. He’s not a starter, obviously, the competition is strong, but he has been important.”

That reflects the current balance. The player is not a guaranteed starter, yet still sees value in staying.

Premier League stay if he leaves

However, there is also a defined backup plan.

Andrade added: “If it depends on Gabriel Jesus, priority number one is renewal at Arsenal. Point two: if he leaves Arsenal, the priority is English football, the Premier League.”

That point is crucial. It suggests any move away from Arsenal would likely keep him in England rather than take him abroad.

This slightly contrasts with earlier signals around a broader European market, including Italy, following his switch to agent Giovanni Branchini.

What happens next

Gabriel Jesus’ position is now well outlined. He wants to stay at Arsenal. If that does not materialise, he still prefers to remain in the Premier League.

For Arsenal, the next step is clear. The club must decide whether to open talks or allow the situation to drift closer to the final years of his deal.

With no approach made yet, the timeline remains open. However, the player’s priorities are now firmly on the table – and they point towards continuity in England rather than a move elsewhere.

🇧🇷 Luiz Henrique | Arsenal opportunity to sign Brazil winger for €40m

⭐️ Star named Gunners as dream club
➡️ Currently seen as Brazil’s 12th man

— Sport Witness (@Sport_Witness) March 27, 2026

MILAN, ITALY – JANUARY 20, 2026:Gabriel Jesus of Arsenal reactsduring the UEFA Champions LeagueFC INTERNAZIONALE

[1

post-172","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-arsenal
["GET
