Gunmen Kill NSCDC Officers in Rivers State

Seven members of the Nigeria security and Civil Defense corps (NSCDC) were killed by unknown gunmen.

 

Though the massacre is said to be have been perpetuated by suspected sea pirates in Degema local government, Rivers state, there is no evidence to support this claim. 

 

These personnel were about 12 miles from the rivers, strolling and patrolling when the inevitable happened. 

Coincidentally, On Friday, two sea pirates were killed in a gun battle. Two of the Defense corps who were Muslims, were buried immediately their corpses were found, on the same day. And although it is yet to be confirmed, there is a suspicion that everyone in the boat escorting the NSCDC officials were killed.

Everyone living around the Degema local government should do well to be careful and stay safe.
