Minna lecturer, Dr. Funmilayo was killed on Saturday 28 October by her 14 year old house help. Dr. Funmilayo, a lecturer of the Department of Biochemistry at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, had relieved her house help, a 14 year old girl, of her duty when it became known that the young girl had begun stealing from her.
Out of anger and whatever motive she had, the teenager called two of her male classmates to teach her former boss a lesson. Whilst the beating was going on, the young girl took a knife and stabbed the oncoming Professor.
When the police arrived at the crime scene, they took the associate Professor to IBB Hospital in Minna where the doctors confirmed that she had died.
Wada Wada, a Legal Practitioner, noted that the teenage girl, despite her age, will be tried in the state High Court the same way adults are tried in Court. However, her sentence will be given and effected from when she attains the age of majority.
