RIVERS STATE GOVERNOR, FUBARA, APPOINTS NEW COMMISSIONERS

 Siminalayi Fubara, Governor of River State appoints five new commissioners to join in his administration. The State House of Assembly screened and confirmed them as fit for this appointment on Thursday, and on Friday, 27th of October, 2023, they were appointed. 



The names of these commissioners who were sworn in are; Joseph Johnson, as Commissioner of Information, Victor Kii, Commissioner of Agriculture, Dr. Gift Worlu, as Commissioner to be in charge of the Ministry of Housing, Austin Ben-Chioma, for the Ministry of Environment, and Isaac Umejuru, as Commissioner for Urban Development.


He charged them to be active in each of their areas of appointment in order to aid a smooth run of the administration. The Governor describes them as “capable and talented young men” whom he believes that their contributions are needed to implement his agenda of consolidation and continuity. He also charged them with the duties of collective work as against working as a sole administrator, stating that they must work with the Permanent Secretaries, Directors as well as other officials. 


As a result of these appointments, the commissioner in Rivers State becomes a sum total of eighteen.
