The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended the controversial Lagos socialite known as Balogun Eletu, also identified as Sam Larry. This arrest is part of an active inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of the singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, who was popularly known as Mohbad.
The confirmation of this development came from SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, during a telephone interview conducted late on Thursday night. SP Hundeyin stated, "Yes, Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry, is currently in our custody and is providing assistance in the ongoing investigation."
According to reports, prior to this arrest, the police had previously summoned both Sam Larry and the singer Azeez Fashola, widely recognized as Naira Marley, for questioning regarding the circumstances surrounding Mohbad's untimely demise.
Last week, the police also confirmed that pathologists had completed the autopsy procedure on Mohbad, and they are currently awaiting the results of the examination.
The Police Public Relations Officer stated, "Autopsy has been concluded, and we are now awaiting the results." This update came after a joint effort by a team consisting of the Nigeria Police Force and healthcare professionals, who exhumed Mohbad's body for further investigation.
In addition to these developments, the police have taken into custody the nurse who allegedly administered an injection to the deceased singer shortly before his tragic passing on Tuesday, September 12.
